VALERIE PATRONI

Founderess + Midwife

I am a proud mama to my four extraordinary home-born daughters, and married to an incredibly supportive man. I am a community midwife, committed to offering autonomous, complete and supportive care to women and their families throughout the childbearing cycle and beyond. Formerly a Certified Professional Midwife, credentialed by the North American Registry of Midwives, I am able to provide primary care for families during pregnancy, birth, postpartum and newborn period as well as comprehensive well-woman care. I am currently licensed by the state of New Jersey and Vermont.

EXPERIENCE

I began attending births in 2005, providing labor support as a doula, in both home and hospital settings. In following my devotion to birth work, I was led to Birthwise Midwifery School, a direct-entry midwifery program, which combines didactic study and clinical experience through apprenticeship and is accredited by the Midwifery Educators Accreditation Council (MEAC). My clinical experience consisted of apprenticeships with several Homebirth and Nurse Midwives throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Texas, in home and birth center environments. Most of my experiential training comes from a busy traditional midwifery practice, primarily serving Amish families. In 2015, I opened my solo practice and have been helping mamas and babies in the Tristate area as well as New England. Life has taken my family and I on a new adventure in Southwest Florida, to be closer to family!

Before my life as a midwife, I practiced as a Doula, Yoga Teacher, and offered Cranio Sacral Therapist. Another passion of mine is elevating female youth. Over the years I have developed and facilitated several Young Women’s Body Awareness Workshops for high-risk females in High Schools. I've had the privilege of being a guest speaker at Universities, to speak about natural physiologic birth and also co-facilitated, ‘Centering Pregnancy’ prenatal care, along side Nurse Midwives at Rowan University/Kennedy Hospital. I hold a current CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and take advantage of CEU opportunities when available. I am a lifelong student, in a constant state of learning from the women I serve, mothers in my community, fellow midwives, and the little womben I am raising up.

INTENTION

Inspiring and witnessing women to step into their power is a service I am humbled by, and hope to offer for many years to come. The whole aspect of a woman being in her sovereignty, vulnerability and rawness, and no one trying to change it, is the nectar of truly being, "with woman". I believe Authentic Midwifery is the most radical and revolutionary gift to the world, and that Midwives have a beautiful and vital role in the time and space of pregnancy, birth and post partum.
